[Edited] Chapter 21: Please Be Prepared For Baldness

The snow covering Wissas and Fort Comoy had all melted.

The city was slowly recovering from the previous excitement—many more craftsmen on the streets wandered around every day, holding drawings and tools, and recording from time to time.

There was still a little whiteness left in Pal Mountain, dotted among the vast emerald green, and then disappeared as the weather warmed up gradually.

When the craftsmen were fully prepared to participate in the presidential competition, Walker and Fernandi began to lead the soldiers into the small valley on the northwest side of Pal Mountain to mine.

The veins were unexpectedly long.

There was a huge volume of black ores, which spread all over the small valley and extended to the depth of the mountain… It was estimated that there would be no need to worry about the cost and consumption of black ore in the next few decades.

For the time being, Fernandi and Walker sent people to dig a passage suitable for entry. It was about more than 10 meters wide and more than 60 meters long.

The black ore resources dug out were already very rich and numerous.

They then loaded the excavated ore into the warehouse and sent people to guard it strictly. When everything was ready, they could put it into use in the reconstruction of Wissas and Fort Comoy.

Xia Zuoyi recently mainly read books on “Urban Planning and Management”.

The library produced by the Buddhist System was very versatile and covered a wide range.

Some urban planning books were more detailed about the spatial layout of a city, the arrangement of streets in all directions, and what kind of public infrastructure should be included in the city.

Xia Zuoyi had a general idea in his mind about how to rebuild Wissas and Fort Comoy.

After all, some of the facilities and individual buildings he wanted to build were issues that the current craftsmen may not consider.

The reason why Xia Zuoyi organized a competition for the president of the craftsmen’s guild was that he wanted to select a flexible, capable, and talented person to be the leader of the construction in the next five years.

What was more, he wanted to see the level of the drawings they designed.

Only through comparison would there be a better choice.

It was also more convenient for him to add in the public facilities or infrastructures he needed.

Xia Zuoyi: After all, as the Party A, don’t I just do what I want? 🙂

In the future, there would be many places where the craftsmen’s guild would be used.

Time flew quickly. It was as if spring had stepped into the sky in a blink of an eye.

The sun was shining today. It was a rare sunny day.

Xia Zuoyi took Udit, Gibran, and the others to enter the northwest side of Pal Mountain again. They would find a suitable location for the castle to be built next to Lake Pal.

He wanted a castle facing the lake.

When he opened the window, he could see the beautiful mountains and lakes. He could listen to the sound of birds in the morning as he got up in the warm sunshine, roamed around the lake in a boat, the beautiful water birds…

Next to the castle, there should be pasture, fenced, raising horses, cattle, and sheep…

It would be better to enclose the areas of planting, picking, breeding, and grazing. They would be self-sufficient and fully functional.

The environment of the mountain forest was quiet, the air was fresh, and the scenery was beautiful.

Snowball and Briquette could move freely in the forest.

These two little milk tigers had grown up, from the size of two adult palms at the beginning to as much as half an arm now.

Apart from sleeping and eating every day, their favorite thing to do was to run around behind Xia Zuoyi, wailing and whining cutely.

Xia Zuoyi found it quite novel.

He not only moved the dens of the two little milk tigers to his bedroom but also planned to place them on the bed and sleep together.

Even after Udit’s several dissuasions, there was no significant effect. The little earl refused to listen, so he acquiesced in his wayward behavior reluctantly.

This visit to Lake Pal was also a spring trip.

Toby and Kelly came with them. The two knight commanders led a team of soldiers to protect them.

They laid long clothes on the grass by the lake and sat on the ground.

“Ow, ow, ow.”

Two chubby little milk tigers tugged at Xia Zuoyi’s arm and stretched out their thick claws to take the meat in his hand.

Xia Zoe leaned back tactically to avoid them.

Udit was sitting behind Xia Zuoyi and guarding him, fearing that he would be knocked down by the two heavy and stocky little tigers.

“You can’t eat anymore. Look at your tummies. It’s not all from baby fat anymore.”

Xia Zuoyi told Udit ruthlessly to take away the meat strips and touched Snowball and Briquette’s velvety belly. He sighed and said in his heart, “098, they have a huge appetite.”

098:【Host, this is a normal situation. Snowball and Briquette are different from ordinary tigers. In the future, they will grow larger and their food intake will also be huge.】

【Host, 098 suggests that after the castle is built and you move over, you can let them hunt freely in the mountains and forests.】

Xia Zuoyi hummed.

This was also in his consideration. The mountain forest was the most suitable place for Snowball and Briquette.

The two little milk tigers saw that they really could not eat the meat strips, so they ran away and stumbled along in the grass.

Unknowingly, they ran to Fernandi and Walker’s side. They stopped foolishly and their slick eyes looked at them curiously.

Walker could not help smiling. When he tried to reach out, Snowball and Briquette bared their small fangs and growled that still smelled of milk.

“Ow! Oow!”

Walker was so amused that he continued to put his hand on Snowball’s mouth perseveringly, but would quickly retract it when Snowball was about to bite it.

With such repetition, he quite owed a beating.

After Briquette tried to bite it several times, he probably felt that he could not bite it, so he shook his little tail and squatted to the side.

After lying down for a while, he turned over and began to relax his belly lazily. His fluffy little belly rose and fell with his breathing, very regularly. With his four paws curled up, he looked as if he was about to fall asleep.

At this time, a small wildflower that seemed to have just sprouted was slowly put near to his nose.

The branches of the flower fluttered gently in the breeze.

Briquette’s sight was attracted involuntarily. He rolled over and climbed up with a grunt. With his gaze fixed on it, his chubby tail no longer swayed. His buttocks cocked up gradually as his front paws gripped the grass. He looked like he was ready to pounce on it.

The next moment, he rushed towards the wildflower.

“Oh.”

The Briquette circled in a daze. He did not pounce on the flower.

Fernandi held the wildflower in one hand. The corner of his mouth could not help rising and his eyes were exceptionally soft.

This weather, the mountain, the water… Everything made people feel very relaxed.

Xia Zuoyi put his hands behind his back and shook his little feet leisurely.

After turning his head and looking around, he pointed to a direction and said, “Udit, how about building the castle there?”

“It’s not too far from the lake but not too close either. The moisture could be avoided. The surrounding area is not only open but also flat, so a large pasture can be built on the right rear…”

‘Then separate the planting area, breeding area, vegetables, fruits, herbs…’

Udit said, “Of course, it is very good, my lord. But can you leave me an area around the castle?”

Xia Zuoyi nodded, “Yes, but what do you want to do, Udit?”

“I want to plant a large field of bright and beautiful roses for the earl. Let the roses representing Desinia grow with you.”

Hearing this, Gibran could not help saying, “Rose is indeed very suitable for lord earl.”

“That’s a good idea, Butler Udit. Can I help you?”

Udit smiled and nodded. Naturally, it was no problem.

Kelly and Toby also said enthusiastically that they would join in too.

“…”

Xia Zuoyi became so shy that he did not even want to shake his little feet anymore.

After a moment of leisure, when they returned to the castle, it became a busy time.

Two months later.

The craftsmen, led by the knights, gathered again in the open space outside the castle to hand over their drawings.

There was a person in the front who was responsible for recording something.

When it was Conrad’s turn, the recorder only asked, “Did you write your name on your drawings?”

Conrad nodded hurriedly, “Yes, sir.”

Udit said, “Next, tell me your name, whether you have formed a team with others, and how many drawings have you drawn?”

Conrad gave his name and hesitated about the second question, “Sir, is it teamwork to ask my two sons to help?”

Udit looked at Darren and Dave who were peeking behind him, and replied, “Did they participate in the detailed designing of the city planning? If they are also involved, it is considered teamwork.”

Conrad said hurriedly, “Yes, sir. It’s teamwork. There are twenty-two drawings.”

Darren participated in a small part of the design and sometimes was responsible for calculating some marginal data.

As for Dave—he followed them around the streets or urban areas, made suggestions on some issues, and often helped with drawing pictures.

Both sons had good talents, they were serious and sensible.

Conrad trusted them very much.

Udit recorded them one by one, and then said, “Follow the knight in six days. The results will be announced at that time. Please wait patiently for the time being when you get home.”

“Yes, sir.”

Conrad and his two sons went back with excitement and trepidation.

In six days.

Xia Zuoyi invited Fernandi, Walker, and the others to screen together.

They first removed those drawings that were not up to standard at first glance, such as messy drawings, unclear views, or unreasonable design.

Finally, they slowly checked the detailed and carefully designed drawings, according to whether it was in line with the reasonable layout and planning of the city, whether the functions were complete, and whether there were new ideas and other conditions to choose from.

Xia Zuoyi pulled out a drawing and said, “What do you think of this planning and design?”

This drawing not only divided each area of the two cities but also highlighted the necessity of drainage facilities in Wissas. It also gave solutions, taking into account the principle of safety.

In addition, a short-distance and convenient road was designed between Wissas and Fort Comoy.

Compared to other drawings, this design was really good.

Otherwise, it would not stand out in Xia Zuoyi’s hands.

After reading it, Udit and others nodded in agreement.

Xia Zuoyi said, “Then him.”

The author has something to say:

Xia Zuoyi: Are you ready for baldness? 🙂
